"Music that moves you." Yep, moved me to jump up, run for the remote, and hit the mute button. One guestbook writer called rm a "square" for his purist's taste. Imagine, a purist being mocked for desiring true classical music on a so-designated station. You can't shuck these younger purists, either. They know the real thing from a joke when they hear it. This station once had consistency to reach the purist, but has sunk to repetitious patronizing and pandering. Like listener Shirley, I kept hoping for a return to the pure and rare-sought classical pieces folks invested their hard-earned cash for. Then just over a week ago I heard strains from the dishonoring Webber's "superstar." I tuned off xlnc1 and didn't look back. Shirley, if you want to hear the real deal, check out wqed-fm or mdr klassik. You can toggle between them on your player. They present early composers' works xlnc1 has long forgotten or neglected in its pursuits. Uninterrupted, soothing, hour-long sets of symphonic delights. Complete works. No broadway, no bullfights, no circus. And no donations to a diluted, polluted sham. |

Well, I keep hoping, but am still hearing mostly bits and pieces of classics and endless movie music. But this afternoon I struck gold, complete and uncut: Saint Saens Piano Concerto #2, Schubert's Tragic Symphony, piano sonatas by Mozart and Beethoven, and now the incredible Rhenish Symphony by Schumann. All with no commercial breaks. Dear XLNC, it CAN be done, and you used to do it well. If I mention the source of this afternoon's joy, you'll no doubt erase this entry as soon as you can, so all I'll say is that it's locally aired TV. Please come back to us as you used to be. Please!! |

It was noted that non-profits need all the help they can get. I have to agree. But since some of the sponsors and partners are not connected to the arts, I still strongly believe that saying XLNC1 is "Commercial free" is an outright fraud. |

Just started listening (since Beethoven.com went off the air). Generally, I like the selection you play; but, I was a little disappointed to hear only portions of pieces that I know and love. The conclusion of "1812 Overture"? Who plays just the conclusion? And, to cut off Vaughn Williams' "Fantasia on Greensleves less than halfway through is like being rudely awoken from a dream. Otherwise, no complaints. |

Your station has gone from being great to being annoying. It is really frustrating to hear songs only announced in spanish or even not at all. It is also rather annoying to hear pop songs played on classical instruments when I want to hear classical music. I dislike the lighter tunes that seem to be played all day (It gets better from about 10pm to 6am). Can you please play classical music with titles in English and any other language you prefer? As I type this I can see your logo... "104.9 FM... Dare to listen" ... but it hardly seems a "dare to listen" when the selections you play arn't true classical music. Please change. Please become who you were. If I knew of another quality classical station in the area then I would listen to them. P.S. can you bring the Saturday morning operas back? |

How lovely to finally hear a complete symphony on XLNC! I do hope this is a sign of better things to come. Please, Please, Please!!! put something on your home page to indicate your intentions, and, hopefully, give us classical music lovers some hope that you will once again become the wonderful station you once were months ago! We do need to hear from you!!! |

In English you say "The Romeros", but in Spanish it would just be "Los Romero." I notice in your listings you have it both ways. |

just like to add my vote against the "pops." it ain't classical just because it's played on orchestral instruments. when I want rock music I turn to a rock station, and please keep in mind that movie music is specially constructed to stay in the background of movies. |

I have been listening and enjoying your music ever since you began broadcasting as a classical radio station. I wonder who is selecting your programs now as I am hearing far too many Broadway show tunes and pop music on XLNC. What happened to your serious classical music programming? I really miss it as your station was the only locally available classical music station. I have supported you whenever I could but will no longer do so if you continue to play such light music. I miss the great music you used to play for your listeners. Please return to the music we love. |

As a regular listener to this station (numerous hours of the day) and a music major, I'd have to say what a pleasure it is to hear everything this station puts on the air...in particular it is a VERY refreshing treat to hear the video game gala concert that is on the air currently (1:00 a.m. sat. august 7th).... It would be very nice to hear some more of this stuff during the daylight hours. how exciting to hear good performances of my favorite video games' music ON THE RADIO!.... wonderful selections xlnc1! |
